DVD-R

It is a format of the latest technology which come up at the end of year 1990. It is used for keeping all data , sound and display video.

DVD-Rom is developed after CD-Rom. DVD video is the disc which contains sound and display & used in DVD players where you connect on your Tv. DVD drivers can retrive and print in both formats in your computer . MPEG-2 & PCM data compression is used in DVD videos. You may watch DVD video with software help if you do not have MPEG-2 decoder card in your computer.

In normal speed CD-ROM , 150 kbps data can be retrive in a second .With 40 speed cd-rom 40x150 = 6000 kbps data can be transfered. 1X dvd is 9 times faster than 1x cd-rom if we consider dvd's speed with cd-rom's retrive speed 150 kbps & so .If a dvd prints in 8x speed , this is 72 speed for cd-rom .If we compare with the spinning in each minute inside the drive , 1 dvd spins 3 times faster than cd. In this way a dvd of 8x to be equal to a cd-rom of 24x speed.
